Our newest affiliate podcast, Peek to Pitt, dropped on Monday and one of the hosts revealed a bit of #InsiderHeat.

Ali Peek (now Wilbur) shared that a source had informed her that the Florida Gators and Notre Dame Fighting Irish were currently in negotiations for a home and home series in football.

The Gators and Fighting Irish have squared off one time. Notre Dame won 39-28 in that game.

UF has recently announced several home and home series over the last few months. They will square off with Arizona State in 2028 and 2031, Utah in 2022 and 2023, Texas in 2030 and 2031, and USF in 2021, 2022, and 2025.

UF Athletic Director, Scott Stricklin hinted at a scheduling update on Twitter a couple of days ago. Could this be what he was referencing?

No indication yet of when the series will take place or when a deal gets finalized. For all college football fans, but especially fans of these two blue bloods, we hope both take place soon!

You can listen to Ali and TJ discuss the potential series here at the 59:50 mark:
