Manuel is a prospect that at one time early in the process was a 5-star and only recently did he drop to a high 4-star recruit. He is also a local area prospect that plays his high school ball about 30 minutes outside of Gainesville at Vanguard High in Ocala.
The Gator coaching staff has shown they are making it a point to keep the local products home with the early commitments of Manuel’s teammates Bryce Langston and Trevonte Rucker as well as fellow class of 2020 ATH Ja’Quavion Frazers out of Dunnellon.
Manuel brings size and athleticism to the WR group and the ability to go up and get the ball away from smaller defenders. With his 6’4 200 frame and leaping ability he’s a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses and could be a big time red zone threat for the Gators early on in his career.
With the addition of the 4-star pass catcher Florida’s already highly ranked 2020 recruiting class jumps into the Top 3 in the country. An excellent early start to what looks to be a very promising class and what is likely to be Coach Mullen and his staff’s highest ranked class so far.
Another note, Florida Linebackers coach Christian Robinson who is the recruiter responsible for the Ocala area has started to earn his stripes on the recruiting trail and is responsible for several top prospects throughout the 2019, 2020, and 2021 classes. Don’t be surprised if some top programs around the country come calling looking for his services in the near future.
